The Canadiens-Senators series got nasty in the very first game of the series last night.
P.K. Subban was kicked out of Wednesday’s game for a slash on Senators rookie Mark Stone in the second period.
Stone grabbed his wrist and fell to the ice before skating to the dressing room. Subban was initially handed a five minute misconduct, but then eventually told to go to the dressing room. Stone returned to the game.
But Sens coach Dave Cameron obviously angry, and allegedly said, “I think it’s an easy solution: You either suspend him or one of their best players gets slashed and just give us five,” which could lead to some trouble for himself.
Stone also seems to be in favour of suspending Subban, saying, “There was some intent there.”
