Today would have been Les Paul’s 100th birthday. Les was one of the pioneers of the full-body electric guitar. Without that instrument, rock and roll wouldn’t sound the way it does today. Paul will be honored across the world today with a series of celebrations including a 100th Anniversary Celebration concert at the Hard Rock Cafe in New York City. The event will include performances from many of the musicians Les Paul inspired including Steve Miller, Joe Satriani, Neal Schon and Steve Vai. Also, Peter Frampton will take the stage in Nashville to help declare “Les Paul Day”. Paul passed away August 12th, 2009, at the age of 94.
