The Oscars After-Party Menu

Sitting through lame speeches can sure make you work up an appetite. Seriously! Think back to when you had to watch your child in front of the class when they were in Grade 6…I mean, did EVERY kid go to P.E.I. on their summer vacation? And of course the water was salty- that’s why they call it SALT WATER!

…I digress.

The menu’s been released for the glitzy, glamorous (and evidently gluttonous) Oscars After-Party Sunday night. Wolfgang Puck is once again creating the menu and serving:
– A raw bar with Atlantic Bigeye tuna, wild-caught yellowtail, stone crab claws, 7,500 individual shrimp, 300 Maine lobsters and 1,300 oysters
– 50 types of hors d’oeuvres
– Sriracha-candied macadamia nuts
– Braised short rib with cauliflower puree and golden raisin puffed Thai rice
– Tortellini with artichoke fromage
– White grape almond gazpacho
– Rye berry risotto with peas and asparagus
– Poke, stone crab, made-to-order sushi
– Smoked salmon Oscars
– Chicken pot pie with shaved black truffles
– Mini American Wagyu burgers with aged cheddar
– Pistachio crepes with strawberry-Champagne foam and crumbled pistachio
– Caramelia shot with maple cream, muscovado couscous and coffee sorbet
– Chocolate passion layer cake with chocolate biscuit speculoos and banana ice cream
– Chocolate dessert bar featuring 24-karat-gold chocolate Oscars

I’d thought about asking my girlfriend if I could treat her to a night on the town and then realized there were no cocktail peanuts, mozzarella sticks or jalapeno poppers- so I’m going to save the over-$1,000 per couple and just hang at home in track pants and eat Chef Boyardee from the can…Who’s the REAL winner?!
