Kingsville Migration Festival

OCTOBER 13 to OCTOBER 16 – 47th Annual Migration Festival – celebrating 151 years of Jack Miner.
Opening Ceremonies take place Thursday at 6pm at Merlis’ Coffeehouse and Eatery, 4 Main St. W., Kingsville. Including a drive thru Art Gallery Unveiling Wine and Cheese Reception.
The Odd Couple Dinner Theatre is Friday at Migration Hall. Doors open at 6pm, dinner 7pm, show 8pm. Enjoy appetizers, a delicious locally catered dinner followed by the hilarious classic – The Odd Couple:Female Version, written by Neil Simon. Migration Fest Parade begins at 10:30am on Saturday at Main St. and Spruce – travels west on Main to Division and travels south on Division to Park St. Featuring bands, floats and entertainers. Canned goods will be collected on parade route, watch for volunteers with grocery carts. Register at www.migrationfestival.ca or call 519-733-2123.
Migration Fest Market is Saturday and Sunday from 11am-4pm at Kingsville Arena, 1741 Jasperson Lane. Shop local artisans, unique art, woodworking, jewellery and more. Admission is free; canned food donations will be accepted in lieu of admission.
Art & Photo Competitions on Saturday and Sunday from 11am-4pm at Jack Miner Migration Bird Sanctuary – Playfair Stadium, 322 Road 3 West, Kingsville. Free admission. Have a say and judge the People’s Choice Award. Calling all artists & photographers – enter for cash prizes at www.migrationfestival.com.
Saturday and Sunday events at Lakeside Park, 315 Queen St., Kingsville:
Windsor Woodcarvers Museum, 10am-4pm – Annual show and competition. See artistic carvings, demonstrations, shop the vendors, soapstone carving for youth. Admission: $3, seniors $2, youth $1, children under 12 free.
Live Trout Pond, noon-4pm – $3, “fish until you catch”.
Kingsport Environmental Birds of Prey Shows at 12:30pm and 3pm.
Children & Family Activities, 1pm-4pm – Sarah Parks Horsemanship Pony Rides on Sunday, children’s activities, games, face painting, train rides, entertainment, cotton candy and popcorn.
